Just Married

On the very rainy yet at the same time hot day of July 18th 2009 (yesterday) Ida and Jens tied the knot and promised to forever cherish, love and respect one another. Together with 77 other guests I bore witness to this beautiful event at Harplinge Kyrka and Grötvik in Halmstad, Swden. I was exceptionally lucky to share this day with Jens and Ida at a very close distance. I was Ida´s maid of honor. :-)

Besides a little accident with my dress right before the wedding (understatement! ask and I might tell you about it) and a kind of confused or just nervous priest with my dress, everything went really well. The dinner was great and so was the party. Ella and Magnus (toast master and madame) did a fantastic job- all the guests felt really welcome and I think Jens and Ida had a magical day not only because all their friends were there but because of all the effort E and M put into the event. Like the releasing of balloons when they arrived, the Gylle Tider/Gessle speech, all the telegrams, the Tsunami lamp at the end of the evening signifying eternal love etc! It was perfect!

Weddings leave you with a lot of emotions. Happiness- all the joy around you just engulfs you- and LOVE of course. Everyone seems to show and feeling even more love than usual at these events... You see it in everyone´s faces. I too felt the love and happiness but as one of the few singles at the party I even felt a sting of emptiness... I can´t wait til I'm married and feel that special bond with someone. To look ahead at our future and common goals with that one person who simply (Tom Cruise said it so well...) "completes me". Magic!
